Well friends, another chapter of fly thrifted outfits, body positive goodness, mental health, art, and politics has come to a close! Where does the time go? From my years of misguided dysfunction, to my years of relationships that nourish the soul. Find out your love language as I psych-nerd the fuck out. This one is for any human who has to interact with other humans.
4. Digital Dementia – Are you obsessed with your goddamned phone? Don’t worry I’m not here to shame you, but this post will give you some insight on how technology can affect your life, mood, and even influence your choices. Peek behind the digital marketing curtain. Certified: woke.
5. A MyXXFLY Halloween – We are joined by OG MyXXFLY babe Ophelia for Halloween! This day was bananas, but although nothing went according to plan we managed to catch the magic of the sun and photograph this beauty as she gets in touch with her Caribbean roots and channels sea-goddess Calypso in an all second-hand costume.
6. Get Over Yourself: An Existential Crisis – Doing my best Gene Kelly on a rainy day. This post is for any time you feel listless, bored, or generally ennui. I tackle how loss and death have affected my general outlook on life, and how I’ve pulled through. If you’re going through some tough shit, this one might help.
7. Ode to Tio Chele – This post is an ode to my uncle Chele who passed away from peritoneal mesothelioma in November of 2015. The way he led his life, and the circumstances of his death, have shaped my life immeasurably. This one reads like a short story of love and loss, and gives you a glimpse into my childhood and how he inspired and continues to inspire me.
8. Physics, Reality, and the Spiritual World – One of my most ambitious posts to date, we visit a local alien and UFO mural adorned house to muse on the spirit. 10. Lolita Yuki-Chan – A feature on Japanese alternative fashion “Lolita style” with my old middle-school homegirl Kristina. Check out this post to find out the difference between cosplay, lolita, and how sustainable fashion is cool, but not as cool as making it your damn self.
11. La Purisima: Quien Causa Tanta Alegria?! – A post on the Nicaraguan tradition of La Purisima, a raucous celebration of the virgin Mary for the religious and areligious alike. Written in the style of investigative journalism, we tour the neighborhood where I grew up, and visit with friends and strangers to ask, “Who causes all of this joy?”.
12. The MyXXFLY Introvert’s Guide to the Holidays – Exactly what it sounds like. I don my festive Chrismas goth pout, and bring you an introvert’s survival guide. Applicable not only to the holiday season, but to any situation where your asocial self has to glam up and interact with other humans when you’d rather Netflix and chill.
13. Lantern Light Festival feat. Ty – Join us for a tour of an American lantern light festival with our wonderful friend Ty. Learn about the history of the Chinese New Year celebration as Ty gives us the scoop on traditional customs, as well as what the Americanized version got right, and what it got wrong.

For anytime you need some self-love affirmations and a bit of a confidence boost.
15. Fast Fashion, Personal Style and the Power of the Thrift – All of the outfits you see me don on MyXXFLY and in my day to day life, are statements against capitalism. Find out why the fast fashion industry is shit, and how sustainable fashion has shaped my personal style. Viva la Thrift!

18. An Open Face Along the Straits of Fear – A confessional. If you’ve ever felt paralyzed by fear, or if you’re reluctant to even admit that you feel it, you’re not alone. This post gives you a glimpse into my own struggles with fear, and hopefully, gives you the courage to stand up to yours while I face my own.

Peaceful Alliance of Interplanetary Nations: Expedition 2442 – An alien in a trench-coat (not to be mistaken for a Yesenia), files a report on its investigation into the fate of the Earth due to the effects of a Trump administration. Find out where humanity is headed as the alien compiles its findings at a public library and gets by with a little help from its (firefighting) friends.
20. Evelyn Durden – Our last post of Phase 2 features my lovely friend Eve of Iuvenile Skincare. Find out what inspired my soul sister to get into the soap making business, how organic products are the bees knees, and why you should support your local economy. No animals were harmed during the making of this post.
